Our Independence Commitment
Betting Wingmen is an independent review platform. Our ratings and recommendations are based solely on our expert team's genuine assessment of each sportsbook. No bookmaker can pay for a favourable review or a higher ranking.
We have affiliate arrangements with some of the bookmakers we review. These arrangements allow us to earn commission when readers sign up via our links — but they do not influence our scores, rankings, or written verdicts. A bookmaker with an affiliate arrangement can still receive a low score or a critical review if our testing finds it warrants one.
Who Reviews the Sportsbooks
Each sportsbook on Betting Wingmen is assessed by one or more of our four expert reviewers:
- Declan "The Striker" O'Brien — football specialist. League of Ireland and EPL focus. Tests market depth, in-play functionality, and LOI live coverage.
- Conor "The Lock" Murphy — rugby specialist. Six Nations and URC focus. Tests rugby odds competitiveness and how fast books move on team announcements.
- Seán "The Hurler" Gallagher — GAA specialist. All-Ireland hurling and football focus. Tests GAA market depth, championship outrights, and county team-news reaction.
- Niamh "The Going" Walsh — horse racing specialist. Irish festival racing focus. Tests Cheltenham and Punchestown coverage, each-way terms, and tote integration.
Each reviewer opens a real account, deposits real money, and tests the platform over a period of at least two weeks before writing their verdict.
Review Methodology
Each sportsbook is assessed across six criteria, each scored out of 10:
- Live odds quality — competitiveness of pre-match and in-play odds versus market average
- Market depth — range of bet types and markets available across sports
- Sports coverage — breadth of sports and competitions covered, with emphasis on Irish sports
- Withdrawals — speed and ease of withdrawing winnings via EUR-denominated (€) methods
- Mobile experience — quality of the mobile app or mobile web experience on iOS and Android
- Trust and safety — the Revenue Commissioners licence status, responsible gambling tools, and customer support quality
The overall score is a weighted average of these six criteria. Only Irish-licensed bookmakers holding a valid licence on the Revenue Commissioners register are eligible for review.
Licensing Policy
We only list and review sportsbooks that hold a valid licence issued by the Revenue Commissioners, verified against the Revenue Commissioners register.
Offshore bookmakers — those operating without being Irish-licensed — are not eligible for listing regardless of their global reputation. Online casino gaming is a licensable activity under the Gambling Regulation Act 2024, but the GRAI is licensing betting first (remote betting from 1 July 2026) and has not yet opened online gaming licences as of mid-2026. Our editorial scope is sports betting and horse racing; we do not currently list online casino operators.
Corrections Policy
If you believe any information on this site is inaccurate — including incorrect licence details, outdated bonus terms, or factual errors — please contact us via the contact page. We investigate all correction requests and update content promptly when errors are confirmed.
Review Update Schedule
Full reviews are updated at minimum every six months. Bonus terms and payment information are reviewed quarterly. Major changes to a bookmaker's offer (new licence, new app, significant odds changes) trigger an immediate review update.
